This month’s Contractor of the Month is Mangala Durgha, a Senior Business Analyst currently contracting with Allianz Technology Australia.

What has been particularly successful about this contract?

I’ve had the opportunity to work across a variety of challenging projects. The freedom given to me to be part of the business team and the technology team has allowed me to apply my existing skills but also learn new ones.

What would be your advice to someone who is considering becoming a contractor within the IT sector?   

I think the most important thing is to be open for challenges along the way. While we may specialise in Technology and IT, I think it’s good to gain broader business domain knowledge because it will help you understand the business problems and provide winning solutions.

I’ve been lucky enough to consult on various and large complex digital projects and programs in the Insurance sector and with Loyalty businesses.
